Poppies!

I'm having a complete infatuation with Poppies.  I've always collected the seed pods and have a little stash of them in my box of bits which I love to rummage through every now and again and sometimes it sparks an idea.

I'm just releasing some new pieces of jewellery influenced by a poppy head, the beautiful pattern at the top of the pod specifically.  I tried a few ways to capture the pattern previously but I just wasn't happy with the result.  Then, one evening I had a idea and I dug out my box of tools that I had used with Silver Clay and started to play around.

After numerous hours of experimenting I had success.  It's a wonderful feeling when you see an idea take life and I really loved the result, an organic interpretation of the pattern that I love. For now there is a ring, studs, and pendants but I have more ideas spinning around in my head.

Also, I'm on the edge of a new idea- inside a poppy!
