Why DD & Mac?

The dream of having my own jewellery business began many years ago and the name DD & Mac was decided upon long before I actually started my business.

Why DD & Mac though?  The name is in memory of my grand parents who I was very close to growing up.  DD (DeDe or Dids) was my Nans nickname, bestowed on her by her elder brother who when she was a baby tried to call her Dear Dear, but as I was told, struggled and it was shortened to De De.  Her name was actually Anne but my granddad always called her Dids.

Grandad, was only ever known as Mac (other than by my Nan), a shortened version of his surname McCulloch.

Both, but my Nan in particular, were great influences in my early life and it just felt right to include them in my business.
